PURPOSE:To attain reliable lubrication and to prevent leakage of lubricating oil, by communicating hollow chambers formed between rotor supporting bearings and sealing members located on the side of timing gears with the inside of a gear chamber via connecting ports, and thereby circulating lubricating oil carried from the bearing section into the hollow chambers at the front of the sealing members back to the gear chamber. CONSTITUTION:Under ordinary operation of a blower, lubricating oil in a gear chamber 3a is splashed by rotation of a timing gear and carried via bearings 7, 9 into hollow chambers 14 at the front of oil seals 15. At the same time, since a negative pressure is developed at the open end of a connecting port 22 by the function of turning blades 23, lubricating oil carried into the hollow chambers 14 is carried back to the gear chamber 3a via connecting ports 21, 22 or directly from the connecting port 22, thus achieving forced circulation of lubricating oil. By employing such an arrangement that lubricating oil is circulated after passing through the bearing sections 7, 9, it is enabled to achieve reliable lubrication and to prevent leakage of lubricating oil. At the same time, since the resistance to the rotation of the bearings 7, 9 is reduced, the service life of the oil seals 15 can be prolonged. |
