PURPOSE:To provide a torque detector which permits the detection of torque in rotating parts, is of thin type and has good productivity by detecting the reaction force generated in a ring gear when torque is transmitted by utilizing planetary gears. CONSTITUTION:Connecting plates 9, 9 are stuck to the opposed ends of an input shaft 2 and an output shaft 3, respectively, and a sun gear 14 is provided in the opposed spacing parts between both. Further, a ring gear 10 is disposed concentrically fixedly to the sun gear. Pinion gears 8 which are freely rotatably around the 4 places on the same circumference as that of the axis of the plates 9 and are meshed with the gear 10 and the gear 14 are disposed to the respective connecting plates 9. The revolutions of the shaft 2 rotate the pinions 8 on the input side between the stationary gear 10 and the gear 14 and revolve the gears 8 on the output side via the gear 14 while rotating the same, whereby said revolutions are transmitted to the shaft 3. The rotating force of this time acts as reaction force upon the stationary gear 10 and when this reaction force is detected, the rotating torque is detected. |
