PURPOSE:To obtain a superior capsulated toner having high fixability under low pressure, causing no destruction due to impact in a developing device and keeping the surfaces of a carrier and a photoreceptor unstained by sticking a surfactant having a specified hydrophobic atomic group to the surface of the outer shell of a capsulated toner. CONSTITUTION:A surfactant having a hydrophobic atomic group represented by the formula (where each of R1 and R2 is 2-20C aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon residue), e.g., sodium salt of sulfosuccinic dihexyl ester is dissolved in water or a mixture of water with an org. solvent. The surfactant has sulfonate, carboxylate, phosphate, a quat. ammonium group or the like, preferably sulfonate as a hydrophilic atomic group. The prepared soln. is added to a capsule slurry and dried by spraying to manufacture a capsulated toner having the surfactant on the surface. This toner can give a high density image with high resolution under low pressure. |
