PURPOSE:To make the installation error small and suppress the quantity of water leakage from a gap between segments by fixing a guiding member of a solid packing to a packing case in the device for sealing water in the rotary shaft of the hydraulic machine. CONSTITUTION:In the substantially central part of the lower surface of a segment 12A of a packing 12 at a guide groove 17 forming a rectangular space long in the diametral direction, a guide member 16 of cubic member substantially equal thereto, is contained in a state where it is placed on a support surface 11C of a packing box 11. The guide member 16 is correctly located by utilizing a gage or the like, and fixed to the support surface 11C by a welding part 19 with a high accuracy. Therefore, the installation error can be almost eliminated, and both side inner wall surfaces of the guide member 16 and the guide groove 17 can be almost made contact with each other so that the displacement of the segment 12A in the peripheral direction can be almost eliminated. Accordingly, the dimension of a gap between the segments 12A can be suppressed to an extremely small value. |
