JUDGEMENT OF LIQUID-LEAK IN ALKALINE BATTERY

摘要

PURPOSE:To easily detect leakage of electrolyte from a battery and further judge the degree of liquid-leak by seeking the akali leaking from the inside of a battery by spraying the pH-indicator solution at the sealing part of the battery and its periphery. CONSTITUTION:The pH-indicator solution such as cresol red is sprayed in super fine mist form at the sealing part of a battery. As cresol red serving as pH- indicator has the pH-color-changing ranges at two positions, liquid-leak is judged through the color change from yellow to red in the higher pH-color-changing range (pH7.2-8.8). In this case, the concentration of cresol red is preferably 0.001-0.5% and the composition of the mixed solution is preferably 70:30-30:70 by weight % in water : ethanol.
