PURPOSE:To improve work efficiency and yield of products by incorporating an electromagnet in a flexible segment that form a coiling drum and allowing to take up band steel on a drum attracting and holding the steel by magnetic force. CONSTITUTION:The tip of band steel is allowed to contact by pressing to a drum 20 by a press-contacting roll 41 when the band steel is sent out to a position of the take-up drum 20 in which plural segments 21 of arcuate sectional form are supported on a take-up shaft allowing free expansion and contraction in radial direction and the press-contacting roll 41. Then, electricity is conducted to an electromagnet 32 of the segment 21 through a rotary contactor and a switch and the band steel is attracted and fixed on a magnetic pole member 33. Next, the drum 20 is driven by inching, and after coiling a turn or more, the band steel is taken up loading specified coiling tension. After demagnetizing each segment 21, diameter of the segment is reduced and the coil is taken out. |
