PURPOSE:To eliminate local deformation and to obtain a cylinder having small thickness difference, by clamping the outer circumference of the end of a cylindrical work and working without inclination of a mandrel. CONSTITUTION:The end A of a cylindrical work in the direction to be stretched is pressed lightly by a taper ring 11 to stick the inner face of the end of the work fast to a mandrel 1. Next, plural forming rolls 2 are thrusted in near the taper ring 11 by projecting them in the radial direction of the mandrel 1 and the thickness of the work is reduced by moving them in axial direction. Thus, inclination of the end A to the mandrel 1 is suppressed and the whole circumference is deformed in the same state. Thus, a cylinder having small thickness difference can be obtained. |
