PURPOSE:To project a clear and bright picture by providing an anti-halation coating layer on a front glass of a cathode-ray tube. CONSTITUTION:Coating layers 7 and 8 can be provided on only the surface side of a front glass, but if provided also on the back, it is more effective. Assuming that the refractive index of the front glass is n6, the coating layers 7 and 8 shall be of the quality of material whereof refractive index is (N6)1/2. Thereby projection light, which has been fleeing outside being reflected from the front glass 6, can be projected on a screen 1 with no reflection thus to improve brightness of a projected picture. Further the projection light, which has been reaching different spots on the screen 1 reflecting twice inside the front glass 6, and useless light, which has been reaching the screen 1 coming in from outside and reflecting on the surface of the front glass 6, can be removed thus to make the picture clear. |
