A heat exchanger containing tubes (1) arranged as a lattice in a frame (2). The tubes lead a medium for heating or cooling. The frame (2) with the tubes (1) is enclosed in housing (6). The area between the housing (6) and the frame (2) is divided into collector chambers and distributor chambers. Each chamber is divided by means of a dividing wall (12) in a collector chamber and respectively a distributor chamber. These chambers are connected by means of corresponding tubes (1) for formation of separate flow paths for the medium. The heated or respectively cooled medium is introduced through the heat exchanger transversely against the length of the tubes (1).
