PURPOSE:To eliminate laser beam branching by a method wherein one of the two faces of an exit reflector meeting a laser beam at a right angle is formed into a reflective surface of a prescribed reflection factor and the other face is formed into a surface without reflection. CONSTITUTION:At both ends of a chamber 1 filled with a laser material, a first reflector 2 and second reflector 3 are arranged, for the amplification and resonating of a laser beam generated in the chamber 1, and the laser beam goes out at the second reflector 3 equipped with a prescribed reflection factor.In an optical resonator of this design, only one face of the second reflector 3 meeting a laser beam at a right angle is formed into a reflecting surface of a prescribed reflection factor and the other face is formed into a face of no reflection. For example, the exit reflector 3 may be a glass substrate 30 with its one surface coated with a reflecting film 31 of CaF2, SiO2, or the like formed by evaporation and with its other surface rendered to be free of reflection. In this way, with a laser beam being reflected repeatedly only by one face of the reflector 3, there is no laser beam branching even in the presence of poor parallelism on the exit reflector substrate surface. |
