PURPOSE:To reduce a number of electromagnetic clutches and a copier in size, by enabling only one of 4 idler gears corresponding to a selected magnification to contribute to transmission of torque from an input shaft to an output shaft. CONSTITUTION:Each gear ratio of each pair of gears 10a-14a, 10b-14b, 10c- 14c, and 10d-14d between a first shaft 41 connected with a motor and a second shaft 22 connected with a pulley 21 used for scanning an original are set in accordance with each copy magnification value of m3, m2, m1, respectively. At the time of m3 magnification, torque of the shaft 41 is transmitted through the gear 10a, an idler gear 28a, and the gear 14a to the shaft 22. When magnification is changed from m3 to m2, a shaft 44 is rotated by 1/4 with a gear 52, and the torque of the shaft 41 is transmitted through a gear 10b, a gear 28b, and a gear 14b to the shaft 22, and in the case of m1, it is transmitted likewise through gears 10c, 28c, and 14c, and in the case of unmagnified copying, through gears 10d, 28d, and 14d. |
