The appts. has chocolate powder hopper with an Archimedes screw running horizontally through the lower part of the hopper to deliver chocolate powder to a mixing chamber having an inlet from a hot water storage. The hot water storage has a float valve which operates a microswitch to close a solenoid valve in the supply line, thus controlling the level of water, and an electric heating element immersed in the water. A second solenoid valve is in the delivery line from the water storage to the mixer. The cold water supply solenoid is closed during delivery of hot water, ensuring a controlled constant pressure of delivery of a controlled volume of hot water. The operation is commenced by the user actuating a push button which is mounted on the front of the machine which initiates timed operating sequences.
