PURPOSE:To obtain a support with high surface smoothness by coating both sides of paper from pulp fibers having a specified fiber length distribution with polyethylene. CONSTITUTION:Both sides of paper made from pulp fibers contg. <=5wt% in total of residue on a 24-mesh screen and residue on a 42-mesh screen in the fiber length distribution measured with a fiber screening machine are coated with polyethylene to obtain a support for photographic printing paper with high surface smoothness. Said fibers are obtd. by regulating the freeness of fine and short fibers in pulp of broadleaf trees to 200-300ml with a beating machine such as a refiner or a beater. |
