PURPOSE:To repair safely the interior of a blast furnace without suspending operation by a method in which an umbrella type-diverging pipe is connected by hinge to the outside of main body formed by multilayered tubes which are freely movable relatively to each other, and after a follow-up pipe is inserted into the main body, each pipe is connected by wires. CONSTITUTION:A follow-up pipe 6 having a regulation rod 9 therein is inserted into a main body H provided with multilayered tubes 2, 3 and a most outside layer-tube 4 which are positioned on the outer periphery of a stationary pipe 1. This main body H is carried into a blast furnace 22 and is fixed on a throat 17, and the follow-up pipe is slid upwardly. Next, the regulation rod 9 and follow-up pipe 6 are lowered and the lower end of a diverging pipe 5 is moved downward to the surface of furnace-content and is fixed there. Then, when the follow-up pipe 6 and the regulation rod 9 are moved downward while keeping a constant distance between said pipe and rod, the lower end of the diverging pipe 5 is expanded around hinges 23, 24 owing to the constant length of wires 7, 7', 8. The device is caused to follow the lowering of the surface of the charge in the furnace while fixing the expanded angle regulated at an optional rate, and the furnace gas is sucked by means of the stationary pipe 1. |
