Seed drill having a frame which is supported on the ground via running wheels in the operating position, and having a supply container, from which the seed located in the supply container is introduced via metering elements into the ground by way of line pipes and drill coulters connected thereto and arranged movably in a vertical plane, there being located at least in the region behind each of the running wheels a drill coulter which introduces the seed in the running-wheel track into the ground. In order essentially to simplify and improve the depositing of seed in the running-wheel tracks, the drill coulters active in the running-wheel tracks are designed as skimmers and the depth of penetration of these skimmers into the ground can be determined by the running wheels.
