NEW MATERIAL:The 1,4-dihydropyridine derivative of formulaI(R is lower alkyl; R1 is 2- or 3-nitrophenyl; X is ethylenedioxy or oxo; n is 1 or 2) having carbonyl or cyclic ketal group in the 5-position carboxylic acid ester residue. EXAMPLE:3-Ethyl 5-(2,2-ethylenedioxypropyl-2,6-dimethyl-4-(2-nitrophenyl)-1,4-dihydrop yridine-3,5-dicarboxylate. USE:An agent for increasing blood flow in the coronary and vertebral arteries. It has long duration time, and gives light load to the heart. PROCESS:The compound of formulaIis prepared by reacting e.g. benzylideneacetoacetic acid ester of formula II with an amino-crotonic acid ester of formula III (X is ethylenedioxy) at 50-150 deg.C. |
