Circuit arrangement for measuring or monitoring light uses a photosensitive semiconductor element which has an internal resistance depending on the current direction, and to which an alternating signal is applied from a signal source. An evaluation device detects the difference of the conductivity of the semiconductor element which depends on the polarity of the applied signal. <IMAGE>
