The invention relates to an individual wheel suspension for vehicles, especially motor vehicles with leaf springs having horizontal cross section, running obliquely to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and serving as lower wheel suspension elements, which are each pivoted by one of their ends to the vehicle body or frame and by their other end to wheel carriers, which in turn each act in concert with a second wheel suspension element, especially a shock absorber strut or spring strut, the leaf springs each being pivoted at their end remote from the wheel carrier on the opposite side of the vehicle in an already existing rigid body/frame area. <IMAGE>
