The present invention relates to a procedure for making it possible to locate laid mines which are invisible, in order then to pick them up and provide them for renewed reuse. However, it should not be possible to locate the mine during its predetermined active time. In the solution for achieving the given object, a magnet, the field of which is screened, is arranged in or on the mine. This screening is effective during the active time of the mine. It consists, for example, of a bar of soft iron or ferro-ceramic which connects the poles of the magnet and which bears closely against the magnet. After the expiry of the active time of the mine, the screening material is separated from the magnet by means of sensors, if appropriate by the agency of a pyrotechnic composition, so that its field can propagate. This field can consequently be located by means of known detectors and the exact position of the mine therefore determined.
