PURPOSE:To detect the angle of inclination from the change in the inductance of an inductance coil by sealing magnetic fluid in a tightly closed circular pipe having the shape of a rotating body to the extent of generating foam and winding said coil on the outside surface of the circular pipe. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic fluid 13 is sealed in a tightly closed circular pipe 11 having the shape of a rotating body to the extent of generating foam 12, and an inductance coil 14 is wound on the circumferential surface on one side in the longitudinal direction of the pipe 11. When the pipe 11 is tilted and the position of the foam 12 is moved from the end part (a) on one side of the coil 14 to the other end part (b), the characteristic between the position of the foam and the inductance changes. Thus the change in the position of the foam, that is, the angle of inclination can be measured conversely by detecting the change in the inductance. If the detector having the shape of a rotating body is used, the diameter of the pipe can be decreased, and the size can be reduced. Despite the rotation of the circular pipe in the circumferential direction, no influence is given in the detection of the angle of inclination and the detector is convenient for remote measurement and nonvisual measurement. |
