The invention relates to a thermoplastic moulding composition comprising from 50 to 90% by weight of a copolymer A and from 10 to 50% by weight of a rubber B. The copolymer A is built up from 65 to 95% by weight of a monovinylaromatic monomer and from 5 to 35% by weight of an unsaturated dicarboxylic anhydride. The rubber B has a glass transition temperature, Tg, of </=0 DEG C and is built up from b1) at least one monomer from the group consisting of conjugated dienes having 4 to 5 carbon atoms, alkyl acrylates having 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the alkyl radical, monovinylaromatic monomers having up to 12 carbon atoms, acrylonitrile, vinyl ethers, ethylene, propylene and non-conjugated dienes (EPDM) and b2) at least one further monomer in a proportion of from 0.5 to 5% by weight, based on B. This is an ethylenically unsaturated monomer which contains at least one reactive terminal group from the series consisting of -OH, -SH and -NHR, where R is H, alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, aralkyl or aryl. The moulding composition may contain conventional additives and is prepared by combining a melt of component A with the rubber component B and reacting the components at a temperature of >/=200 DEG C. The moulding composition is used to produce mouldings.
