Leaf tobaccos were dried under the white synthetic resin sheet cover by lighting the leaves with 420nm-80nm visible rays with shading the 370mm ultraviolet rays. The light permeability of the cover sheet was 30-60%. The useful ultraviolet ray absorber were hydroquinone, hydroquinone disalicylate, phenylsalicylate, paraoctyl phenyl salicylate, etc.
