PURPOSE:A microorganism in Acetobacter, capable of producing the titled substance and assimilating no methanol, is aerobically cultured to produce the titled substance, which is collected. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism is cultured, which belongs to Acetobacter, such as Acetobacter MK-17 strain, (FERM-5747) or Acetobacter MK-06 strain (FERM- 6173), has a capability of producing coenzyme Q10 and shows no activity of forming thick film of cellulose on the static culture and assimilates no methanol. The culture medium may be a customary one for Acetobacter containing ethanol, glucose, pepton, yeast essence, K, Ca and so on and the cultivation is carried out aerobically at 20-35 deg.C. The bacterium cells are separated from the culture mixture by filtration, treated appropriately, powdered or tabletted into the preparation of coenzyme Q10. |
