PURPOSE:To prepare chewing gum having the physical properties similar to those of gum prepared from chicle resin, by carrying out the tissue culture of a cell block separated from Achras sapota L which is a plant of Sapotaceae family, and using the resin obtained from the cultured product as a raw material. CONSTITUTION:A cell block separated from Achras sapota L (a plant of Sapotaceae family) is inoculated in a tissue culture medium, and cultured at 20-30 deg.C and 5.0-7.5 pH. The resultant callus is separated from the medium, dried, and extracted with an organic solvent to obtain a resin. Chewing gum is prepared by using the resin in place of the natural resin used as a raw material of chewing gum. |
