A device for ordering fish in a uniform head-tail alignment is presented. It is characterised by a clamping member which rotates about a horizontal axis and comprises radially arranged pincer elements, which form a vertical gap into which the fish fed to it tail first are introduced by their tail fin. Owing to the rotation of the clamping member, the pincer elements are kept closed in the region of a stationary sector of this rotation, so that the tail fin is grasped and the fish taken along. After overcoming the highest point of the rotation of the clamping member, the fish turns over under the force of gravity and is then released again, head first.
