The invention relates to a profile rail, especially for a frame or a door element or wall element of a shower partition wall, having a screw channel which preferably has two limbs extending in the longitudinal direction. A screw or the like can be inserted into a screw channel which is constructed in such a manner, in order to be able to produce a connection to another profile rail or to a different component. In order to ensure a reliable connection, the opening between the limbs should be kept as small as possible. On the other hand, during production, especially during extrusion pressing and also during anodizing such a profile rail, difficulties arise since, on the one hand, the necessary pressing tool is highly expensive and, on the other hand, acid residues and paint residues can also be deposited in the screw channel. It is thus proposed according to the invention that the limbs initially be spaced a relatively large distance apart during production, and that the said distance subsequently be reduced by bending in at least one of the limbs at the ends of the profile rail, and that the large opening which is initially present between the limbs preferably be closed at least approximately. <IMAGE>
