For a tube chuck (9) for clamping bobbin tubes (10) in winding devices, in which the tube chuck (9) itself has the devices for catching (23, 25) and clamping the yarn (14) during the automatic yarn change and these devices are arranged, for pushing on the bobbin tubes, radially within the clear diameter of the bobbin tubes (10), an effective climbing aid for the yarn (14) onto the outer circumference of the bobbin tube is provided. It consists of a yarn guide plate (27) having a yarn guide edge (31) inclined towards the yarn traversing plane. The yarn guide plate (27) ensures that the caught yarn (14) does not fall onto the surface of the tube chuck (9) and is wound there, but is automatically guided immediately onto the outer circumference of the bobbin tube (10). <IMAGE>
