The invention relates to an insect prevention device for doors, having a protective net which is stretched out to cover the door aperture. Known insect prevention devices for doors consist of a rigid frame over which a protective net is stretched and which masks the door aperture in a folding manner, like a second door leaf. A rigid frame has the disadvantage that it is a bulky component which cannot be sold in retail shops and must be made in situ. The insect prevention device according to the invention is characterised in that a profiled rail which is pivotable in each case about a horizontal axis is articulated to attachment surfaces in the immediate vicinity of the door aperture, at least at the bottom and the top, in that a transverse edge of the net is retained on each profiled rail and consequently the net is stretched out between the profiled rails, and in that a flap restoring device which presses the profiled rails together with the protective net against the door aperture is provided. The advantage of this is that the profiled rails can be prefabricated and form, together with the protective net, a retail article in the form of a rolled-up package of minimum dimensions.
