1285195 Benzoisothiazoles MONTECATINI EDISON SpA F GIALDI R PONCI and T VITALI 6 Oct 1969 [7 Oct 1968] 48960/69 Heading C2C Novel benzoisoltriazoles of the formula in which R is -OH of which the hydrogen atom may be replaced by a metal, a basic group or an alkyl group, are prepared by reacting 3-chlorobenzo-isothiazole in the 3-position with a carbonium ion obtained from diethyl malonate, ethylacetoacetate, or ethyl-α-cyano-acetate by the action of an alkali metal and where appropriate the product is saponified, re-esterified or formed into an amide or hydrazide. The benzoisothiazoles may be used as the active ingredient in herbicidal compositions with or without substances with a herbicidal and/or pesticidal and/or fertilizing activity. |
