A piston accumulator has a cylinder shell (4), a piston (1) displaceable in the latter, one cylinder end cover (6, 14) arranged on each side of the piston, a pressurised-gas connection (16) and a pressurised-liquid connection (7). In order to provide a piston accumulator in which the quantity of liquid fed into the piston accumulator is simultaneously removed from the latter at another point and vice versa, the piston is connected via a piston rod (2) to a second piston (3) of the same diameter which is mounted displaceably in a second cylinder shell (5) of the same diameter arranged coaxially to the first cylinder shell. The cylinder end cover situated between the two pistons is penetrated in a sealed fashion by the piston rod. That side of the second piston (3) which faces the first piston can be acted upon by a liquid and the opposite side of this piston can be acted upon by a gas. <IMAGE>
