A method for trimming at least one temperature-dependent resistance, in particular for a resistance thermometer, in which a resistance track which is applied to a carrier is trimmed to a resistance value which corresponds to a nominal value, predetermined on a calibrating curve, of the resistance at the trimming temperatur, characterised in that for determining the trimming temperature by means of the untrimmed resistance track a first actual value of this resistance track is measured at any point in time before the trimming at a calibrating temperature and the factor of proportionality between this first actual value and the nominal value predetermined by the calibrating curve for the calibrating temperature is determined and that immediately before the start of trimming a second actual value of the resistance track is measured at a second temperature and from the second actual value multiplied by the factor of proportionality a nominal resistance value is defined on the calibrating curve, the associated temperature of which nominal resistance value corresponds to the trimming temperature.
