A device for the automatic detection of passengers getting into and out of public transport vehicles comprising electric pulses generating means automatically operated by such passengers. According to the invention the device is characterized by an element which under the influence of a passenger's weight is caused to move from a starting position, in opposition to a force tending to keep the element in its starting position, to approach an oscillate circuit and thereby to attenuate the oscillations generated by said circuit.
