<p>In an automotive vehicle having a first structural member (4) extending in a fore-and-haft direction of the vehicle, a second structural member (6) extending downwardly from the first structural member (4), and a stationary member fixed in the vehicle body, the seat belt arrangement comprising a guide rail (11) extending along and secured to the first structural member, a slide member (14) in parmember (14) in part slidably received in the groove in the guide rail (11) and in part protruding downwardly from the guide rail (11), a retaining strap (17) anchored at one end to the slide member (14) and extending in part in front of the seat structure (8), a retractor unit (18) secured to the stationary member and adpted to pull the retaining strap (17) and to have the retaining strap (17) wound into roll form therein, the retaining strap (17) being anchored at the other end thereof to the retractor unit (18), drive means (19, 20) for driving the slide member (14) to move forwardiy and rearwardly through the groove in the guide rail (11), and a strap guide member (25) having an upper bracket portion (25a) secured to the first structural member (4) and a lower strip portion (25b) extending downwardly from the upper bracket portion (25a) along the second structural member (6) and secured to the second structural member (6), the arm portion (14b) of the slide member (14) extending through a gap formed between the second structural member (6) and the lower strip portion (25b) of the strap guide member (25). </p> |
