PURPOSE:To obtain a thin button type sealed battery having prolonged electrolyte leakage resistance and strong shock resistance by using an electric insulator obtained by bonding ceramic produced by a thermal reaction with a metallic base. CONSTITUTION:The figure shows a cross section of an insulator produced by a thermit reaction. A molten bonding layer 11 of a metallic base 9 and a ceramics 10 exists between the metallic base 9 and the ceramics 10. The ceramics 10 has a higher purity as it is apart away from the metallic base 9. The surface layer of the ceramics 10 is 100% purity and has good alkali resistance. In this insulating structure, the ceramics 10 can be formed on the metallic base 9 as a thin layer. Therefore, the thickness of the insulator depends upon the mechanical strength of the metallic base. A thickness of about 0.1mm. can be formed, and this provides an ultrathin battery. |
