PURPOSE:To simplify a decoding circuit constitution and to improve the reliability, by operating information corresponding to a syndrome ratio, and executing the error correction on a basis of the comparison result of this information with the discriminated result of syndrome is zero. CONSTITUTION:The code block of an input signal is supplied to a syndrome operating circuit 1 and an error correction executing circuit 7 from an input line 100. Syndromes S0-S3 are obtained in the circuit 1. Syndromes S0-S3 are suplied to a syndrome ratio operating circuit 2, a syndrome all zero discriminating circuit 4, and a syndrome zero detecting circuit 5, and the syndrome S0 is supplied as error correction information to the error correction executing circuit 7 through an error correction execution controlling logic circuit 6. Only when an output 500 of the syndrome zero detecting circuit 5 is 0 and an output 300 of a syndrome ratio comparing circuit 3 is 1, the error correction is executed; and in other cases, an error flag 600 is outputted. |
