PURPOSE:To perform a reproduction of waveform for an output signal without level information, by comparing the 1-clock preceding output signal with the upper and lower limit levels and giving an adaptive compression to the output signal if it exceeds both levels. CONSTITUTION:A data compressing circuit 13a compresses a PCM signal based on the signal delivered from an equalizing width storage circuit 20a. If no numeral is available at first to be stored in the circuit 20a, the circuit 13a delivers level 0. This output signal is fed to a level change deciding circuit 18a. On the other hand, the circuit 18a delivers -1 to an arithmetic circuit 19 when an input signal A to the circuit 18a from a differential data compressing circuit is less than the lower set value ''5'' and as long as both the upper and lower set values ''11'' and ''5'', for example, are fed to the circuit 18a. The circuit 18a delivers +1 when the signal A exceeds the value ''11'' and then delivers 0 when the signal A is within ''11''-''5''. |
