PURPOSE:To improve the count precision, by providing many photodetectors, which receive the light from a light source, adjacently to one another to distinguish bubbles and small materials from balls. CONSTITUTION:A duct 31 allows balls 36 and small materials to pass through. A linear light source is used as a light source 30 to monitor the overall region of the section of the duct. Many photodetectors 32 are arranged inseries to constitute a detector 33. Even when one ball 36 is flowed through the duct 31, the light to plural photodetectors 32 is intercepted, and a current or a voltage proportional or inversely proportional to the number of photodetectors 32 to which the light is intercepted is outputted to a counter 34. Contents of the counter 34 are displayed on a display 35. An output level corresponding to the number of balls is set preliminarily to count the number of balls 36 simultaneously with distinguishing bubbles and small materials from balls 36. |
