PURPOSE:To lead the drain well into a combustion chamber and to ensure a smooth rotation, by arranging a plurality of drain suction ports at specific positions in an intake path of a longitudinal engine then coupling them through a single conduit and communicating to a scavenging path or the combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:A crank chamber 10 having a crankshaft 12 arranged longitudinally is communicated through a scavenging path 24 to a combustion chamber 22, and a mixture gas is led from a carburetor 32 through an intake path 30 arranged with a reed valve 34 into said crank chamber 10. In such an engine for an outboard motor, the intake path 30 is formed from the carburetor 32 toward the crank chamber 10 while being bent obliquely downward. Drain suction ports 36, 38, 40, 42 are opened at the right and left end sections in the intake path 30 near the virtually horizontal start and end sections at the curved section of the intake path 30 at the lower section therein. Then said intake ports 36-42 are coupled each other through a single conduit 46 and communicated to the scavenging path 24. |
