PURPOSE:To join sintered hard alloys easily and thoroughly by inserting a thin sheet of Fe metals between the abutting surfaces of the sintered hard alloys, irradiating high energy beams thereto and melting and solidifying said sheet to a slit shape. CONSTITUTION:After the polished abutting surfaces of sintered hard alloys 1, 1' are degreased and demagnetized, a sheet material 2 of Fe metals of 0.1-2mm. thickness is inserted therebetween, and a high energy beam 3 is irradiated onto the insert material, whereby the sintered hard alloys and insert material are melted and an alloy layer is formed. The Fe metals are selected among iron of <=0.5wt% content of carbon, steel, Fe-Ni alloys, Co, Ni and ''Cobal '', and electron beams or laser beams are used for the high energy beam. Thus the joined layer having hardness about >=60% the hardness of the inserted hard alloys used is obtained. |
