PURPOSE:To permit proper preheating control by controlling the level of a standard voltage according to the battery voltage and the temperature of the cooling water and making correction so that the necessary preheating temperature at an arbitary temperature of cooling water may be kept constant independently of variation of the battery voltage. CONSTITUTION:The first standard voltage Va whose level is varied according to variation of the terminal voltage of a battery 3, and each of second standard voltage Vb and third standard voltage Vc whose level is varied according to variation of the terminal voltage of the battery 3 and of the temperature of the cooling water in an engine respectively are output from the emitter circuit of a transistor 24. When the temperature of the cooling water exceeds the prescribed value, the output level of a comparator 79 lowers, a transistor 54 is turned OFF, and preheating operation of a glow plug is suppressed. When the collector voltage of the transistor 54 increases, the output of the compractor 79 is locked at a low level, and the apparatus operates corresponding to only the variation of the water temperature independently of variation of the battery voltage. |
