PURPOSE:To form an engine to light weight and small size, by converting reciprocating motion to rotary motion of a piston through a solid cam and providing the solid cam correlatively to the piston. CONSTITUTION:A solid cam 7 is constituted by a continuously shaped guide groove 6, formed to an internally peripheral suface in the lower part of a cylinder 2, and rollers 11, used as a driven unit, supported by a bearing to lowe end both peripheral sides of an extended cylinder part 10a, successively provided in the lower of a skirt part of a piston 10, and engaged to said guide groove 6. While a distance between a crest part 6a and root part 6b of the wave-shaped guide groove 6 is provided with height equal to a stroke of the piston 10, then the crest part 6a and the root part 6b of the guide groove 6 are provided in each two places in a condition circumferentially shifted with 90 deg.. Accordingly, the necessity for using a balancer and crank weight or the like can be eliminated, and an engine can be formed to light weight and small size. |
