PURPOSE:To make it possible to easily change the size of characters by such an arrangement wherein print elements the dot density thereof differs from that of other elements are formed on a rotatable plate and a desired size can be easily selected by rotating the plate. CONSTITUTION:In the center of a substrate 7, a hole 7-1 to be utilized when the size of character is to be changed is provided. On one side of the substrate 7, an array of resistance heat generating elements 8-1-8-7, each is in rectangular shape, the area of 1 dot is A1 and pitch between dots is Pa, is arranged. On other sides, arrays of heat generating elements of which pitch between dots and the area of dot differ from other respectively, are provided. By this arrangement, 4 kinds of printing, each differs in space between dots, can be accomplished. This thermal head is installed to the axis of the thermal head drive base of printer by means of the hole 7-1 of the substrate 7 and a desired heat generating array is selected by rotating the substrate 7. |
