<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the responsiveness to the control of a sheet thickness, and to improve the flatness of a metallic sheet after rolling and the rolling speed, by performing the heating of rolling rolls controlled by an output of a detector for the thickness of metallic sheet placed at the front of the rolls, with the aid of an induction heater instead of an oil heater. CONSTITUTION:Plural induction heating coils 9a-9g controlled by a heating controlling part 10 are provided to the vicinity of rolling rolls 4. When a detecting signal of the thickness of a part (a) of a metallic sheet 1, detected by a detector 2, is transmitted to the controlling part 10, for instance, the part 10 selects a coil 9b locating at the position corresponding to the part (a) in the direction of the sheet 1 width, after judging the excess sheet thickness of the part (a), and outputs a controlling signal to an inverter 11b. Then, high frequency electric current is supplied to the coil 9b to heat and expand a part of the rolls 4 corresponding to the coil 9b, thereby performing the rolling for correcting the excess sheet against the part (a). Thus, the responsiveness to the thickness control is extremely enhanced, because the control is thoroughly performed by electric signals from the detection to the heating of the roll 4 and the rolls 4 are heated by the coil 9 to the temperature higher than the temp. attained by a oil heating.</p> |
