<p>2-Benzimidazole carbamic acid esters Of formula (I) (where R = 1-4C alkyl; X = H, halogen, NO2, 1-4C alkyl) are prepd. by reacting a cyanamide and an alkylchloroformate to form an alkyl cyanocarbamate, which is further reacted with o-phenylenediamine of formula (II) to give the desired salt. The reaction is carried out in solvent e.g. lower alcohol, acetone, dioxan, ethylene glycol or aqs. mixts. of them.</p> |
