PURPOSE:To realize mass production of a steel segment which is excellent in its dimension accuracy, by forming a segment semi-body which has left only a main beam on an assembly base, and after that, making a main beam assembly body assembled separately positioned to match the segment semi-body, and welding them. CONSTITUTION:On an assembly base 20, joint plates 2, 2 and a longitudinal rib 4 are installed to prescribed positions against a skin plate 3, and a segment semi-body (a) having a structure which has removed only both main beams 1, 1 is formed. Subsequently, both of the main beams 1, 1 of the remaining constituting member are installed to holding plates 10, 10 with a nut 4 so as to be freely attachable and detachable, and the assembly base 20 is made to ascend by a lifting device 22. The assembly base 20 is made to ascend until the center part being near both edge sides of the inside surface of the skin plate 3 is made to press-contact with the lower edge of both the skin plate 3 is made to press- contact with the lower edge of both the main beams 1, 1, and the skin plate 3 is bent like a circular arc along the lower edge shape of both main beams 1, 1 and is made to conform.
