The invention relates to construction engineering. The compression vacuum machine contains a housing (1), with a drive (2) and a working tool (12), and also a cylinder (4) which is arranged in the housing (1) and is fixed in the axial direction and the walls of which form an intermediate space (5) with the housing (1). A percussion body (6) and a piston (3) connected to the drive (2) are arranged in succession in the cylinder (4). The percussion body (6) and the piston (3) are separated from one another by an air cushion (7). To balance the pressure in the air cushion (7) there is a system for compensating for air losses from the air cushion (7). This system is designed in the form of two bores (8 and 9) arranged at a distance apart along the cylinder (4) in the side wall of the same. The bores (8 and 9) in each case lie close to the end faces (10 and 11), facing one another, of the piston (3) and the percussion body (6) when the latter is in contact with the working tool (12) and connect the air cushion (7) to the intermediate space (5) between the housing (1) and the cylinder (4). The present invention is effectively used for destroying solid rock and construction materials.
