PURPOSE:To make level variation easy to see by making a level comparison between a reference signal and an input audio signal at intervals of one horizntal scanning period synchronously with a horizontal period signal, and then supplying a signal which corresponds to their difference to a picture tube. CONSTITUTION:Recording signals 1L and 1R to be recorded on a tape and a signal synchronizing with a horizontal period signal HS are used for conversion to a signal which has pulse width corresponding to the levels of the recording signals. Further, reproduced signals 2L and 2R reproduced from the tape, etc., and a signal synchronizing with the horizontal synchronizing signal HS are used for conversion to a signal which has pulse width corresponding to the levels of the reproduced signals. Both the signals are supplied to display a waveform, obtained by combining horizontal scanning lines, on a picture tube 10, and a waveform corresponding to the recording signal and that corresponding to the reproduced signal are switched and displayed on the picture tube 10. Consequently, level variation is made easier to see than level dot display, and an audio signal is displayed in the form of variation in area or waveform. |
