PURPOSE:To remove any welding work, and increase the life and the work efficiency of an electric-discharge lamp by providing a curved part at the upper end of a supporting wire, and inserting a metallic plate surrounding a filament coil into said curved part, being followed by clamping said curved part. CONSTITUTION:The lower end of a supporting wire 5 is buried into a stem 2 so that the wire 5 is electrically insulated from strut wires 3. The upper end of the wire 5 is curved into a U-shape, and curved again so that the free end is directed upward so as to form an almost S-shaped curved part 7. Next, part of the lower end of a metallic plate 6, which is shaped into an almost-ring-like shape and situated so that it surrounds a filament coil 4, is inserted into the curved part 7. After that, the plate 6 is fixed to the wire 5, with the side of the filament coil 4 surrounded by the plate 6, by clamping the curved part 7. As a result, the life of an electric-discharge lamp can be extended, and the work efficiency of the lamp can be remarkably enhanced. |
