PURPOSE:To make it possible to drain water without the provision of a drain port and a drain pump by a method wherein the inlet port of a sucking pipe of a hot water supply pump attached to the hot water storage tank is made adjustable of its height within the tank in the vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:In case where water stored at the bottom of the hot water storage tank 1 is drained, the flexible sucking pipe 3 connected to a sucking section 2a of the hot water supply pump 2 on the upper 14 of the tank 1 is hung down with the sucking port 4 of the pipe 3 positioned close to the bottom of the tank 1 and the water is drained outside the tank by means of the pump 2 through a hot water supply pipe 11. On the other hand, in case where hot water is supplied into the tank 1, the top end of the sucking pipe 3 is hooked by a hook 16 fixed to the side wall of the tank 1 at a position near the level of the hot water 15 to be stored in the tank and then the hot water is supplied into the tank by means of the pump 2 through the hot water supply pipe 11 and the sucking pipe 3. With the above structure, it is possible to drain the water also by the hot water supply pipe 2 and therefore, the drain port and the drain pump as conventionally required can be dispensed with. |
