PURPOSE:To produce a steel plate which is plated on one side and has excellent surface gloss surely and easily by wetting the non-plated surface of said strip after the plating by application of an acid soln. thereon then removing the covering for inhibition of plating by mechanical means. CONSTITUTION:A plating inhibitor 7 in a receiving tray 5 is coated on the nonplating surface of a steel strip 1 by an inhibitor coater 6. The strip 1 after the coating is introduced into an oxidizing furnance 8, a throat 9 and a reducing furnace 10 to clean the plated surface. After the strip 1 is dipped in a hot dipping metal 12, the strip is taken up and is cooled in a cooler 14. An acid soln. 22 in a receiving tray 20 is coated by an acid soln. coater 21 on the nonplated surface of the strip 1 after cooling. Thereafter the strip 1 is passed through a mechanical remover 23 consisting of brush rollers 26, 27 and backup rollers 24, 25, whereby the plating inhibitor is removed. |
